“New Developments in High Performance Elastomers for Tire Applications” Webinar by RDAbbott (June 28)

Join us Tuesday, June 28, 2022, from 2:00 – 3:00 PM (ET) for “New Developments in High Performance Elastomers for Tire Applications,” a free webinar hosted by RDAbbott about advancements in ARLANXEO rubber materials for the tire industry.

This live event is part of RDAbbott’s 2022 Webinar Series, which provides technical insights and processing recommendations from our supplier partners.

In addition to hearing a technically rich presentation, live webinar attendees will also have a chance to win a copy of ARLANXEO’s sought-after Handbook of Synthetic Rubber by playing our BINGO game during the presentation. For all the details of our game, please read the “RDAbbott BINGO” section below.

Register now and save your spot while seats are still available for this webinar. You’ll receive access to the live event, plus the recording and post-event resources.

Why You Should Attend

Global regulations, tire labeling, strict original equipment (OE) requirements, vehicle electrification, and customer expectations are driving developments in next-generation tires. The industry needs new and improved raw materials to keep up. As the world’s largest producer of synthetic rubber, ARLANXEO is uniquely positioned to offer a broad portfolio of elastomers, including polybutadiene (BR) and co-polymers of styrene and butadiene (SBR). To support new tire developments, these and other materials can be optimized to meet a customer’s specific requirements.

What You Will Learn

In this webinar, you’ll learn about material requirements vital for next-generation tire treads and recent product developments that address them. The presenter, Kevin Kulbaba, a Technical Service and Application Development Manager with ARLANXEO, will examine the following materials:

  • BUNA® FX 5021, a functionalized, high vinyl, solution styrene butadiene rubber (S-SBR) grade for high-performance tires
  • BUNA® FX 3211, a functionalized S-SBR grade with a low glass transition temperature (Tg)
  • BUNA® Nd 20 EZ, a modified, long-chain branched BR grade with a higher Mooney viscosity for improved tread dynamics and processing characteristics

Webinar attendees will also learn how these product developments can be extended to non-tire applications, such as belting, anti-vibration bushings, roll covers, and rubber tracks which include blends with other elastomers like NR, SBR, CR and NBR.

About the Presenter

As a Technical Service and Application Development Manager for ARLANXEO, Kevin Kulbaba focuses on the North American markets for tire and specialty applications based on BR, SBR, and butyl rubber elastomers. He has over 25 years of experience in the field of polymer science, including 20 years of elastomer and rubber compounding. Kevin studied chemistry at Western University and obtained his Ph.D. in inorganic polymer chemistry at the University of Toronto.
