Greenhouse Video Shows Cancarb Cares

Cancarb Limited has released a new video that shows its commitment to its local community of Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada. After partnering with a local food bank to deliver food to residents in need, Cancarb purchased a greenhouse and is using it to further support the food bank’s efforts. The company expects to provide the Root Cellar Food & Wellness Hub (formerly Medicine Hat and District Food Bank) with 150 pounds of greenhouse-grown tomatoes in 2021.

As the four-minute video explains, Cancarb Plant Manager Bob Nichols learned that the greenhouse was for sale during a visit to another local business. When Cancarb decided to purchase the structure and move it the grounds of its Medicine Hat facility, the local food bank was excited to have finally found a partner for greenhouse-grown vegetables.

While learning how to grow tomatoes, Cancarb volunteers have enjoyed the camaraderie that’s developed from this initiative. Cancarb provides its employee volunteers with paid time off (PTO) and cites the relationship between employee satisfaction and employee retention. In Medicine Hat, the Cancarb manufacturing facility runs 24/7 and employs approximately 80 people.

Thanks to the company’s ongoing commitment to its local community, the manufacturer of carbon black is proving that #CancarbCares is much more than a social media hashtag.
