Craig Lustek, RDAbbott’s LSR Application Engineer, will co-present a liquid silicone rubber processing webinar with Sodick & Friends on July 15, 2026, at 1:00 PM (CST). This 1-hour session includes 30+ minutes of pre-recorded, in-cell training followed by a live Q&A session with presenters from across the silicone industry. Craig, along with the other featured presenters, will demonstrate a real-world fill study and explain how process parameters were selected, tested, adjusted, and validated to achieve a consistent, fully formed part.

Donald Alstadt, inventor of the Chemlok® Rubber-to-Metal Adhesive System, has been inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame as part of its 2026 class. Alstadt, a chemist at LORD Corporation (now Parker Lord), patented this solvent-borne adhesive technology in 1956. His former schoolmate, RDAbbott’s Carl Hoglund, helped commercialize Chemlok.
Cancarb Limited has published a Technical Bulletin about how Thermax® N990 affects the properties of butyl seals for capacitors. Thermax® N990 is a non-reinforcing medium thermal carbon black that can replace parts of Thermax® N550, a medium-reinforcing product, in this application. Both products have excellent dispersion, but N990 requires less mixing power for a potential savings in electricity costs.

TSE Industries has published an article about the advantages of Millathane® millable polyurethanes in mining and other high-abrasion environments. Applications include conveyor belts, hoses, solid tires, bearings, bushings, seals, gaskets, and vibration isolators. Millathane® polyurethanes can also be applied as a tough, protective layer to conventional rubber surfaces for greater abrasion resistance and durability.
