International Silicone Conference (May 10 – 11)

RDAbbott will exhibit and present at the 2022 International Silicone Conference (ISC), a biennial event for the silicone industry that is organized by Rubber News. The conference is scheduled for May 10 and 11 at the Sheraton Suites Akron in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

The conference will feature a strong technical program with presentations that cover key global trends and issues in the silicone market, material and process solutions, emerging products, and much more.
Information and Insights from RDAbbott
RDAbbott will exhibit in tabletop booth #10, deliver a technical presentation, and provide the closing address. Two industry veterans from RDAbbott will share information and insights at an event where the elite in the silicone industry meet.
Rick Ziebell, Vice President of Technology and Technical Fellow at RDAbbott, will present “Modifying the Properties of Silicones with Additives” on Tuesday, May 10, from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM (ET). Rick’s technical presentation will examine a customized approach to additive technologies from NovationSi (RDAbbott’s manufacturing subsidiary).
Topics include NovaSperse® antiflame modifiers that impart UL-94 V0 and low-smoke toxicity to liquid silicone rubber (LSR), antistatic modifiers that make silicone hydrophilic and reduce static-cling between cured parts, and antimicrobial modifiers that can stop surface biofilm formation. Rick will also discuss a groundbreaking, patent-pending nanotechnology in silicones that is advancing non-invasive, neuromodulation therapies for FDA-cleared medical uses.
John (JC) Carroll, Senior Account Manager at RDAbbott, will provide the closing address, a talk entitled “Learning from the Past to Forge the Future,” on Wednesday, May 11, from 11:40 AM to 12:25 PM (ET) that will unpack the evolution of silicone over the last five decades. Nicknamed the “Godfather of Silicones,” JC has a 50-plus year career in the silicones industry.
