Check out this recent technical article from ARLANXEO titled “Challenges in Extrusions Met with Branched High Molecular Weight Keltan® 13561C EPDM” and published in Rubber World’s May 2020 Issue. The article was written by Pete Spanos, M. Montserrat Alvarez Grima and Gosé van Zandvoort of ARLANXEO.
While Keltan® 13561C has a strong reputation for being a premier EPDM grade for extruded seal formulations, this study demonstrates how it is also a principal tool for automotive hose formulations.
The very high molecular weight and long chain controlled branching of Keltan® 13561C EPDM drives economical compounding and enhanced processing. Its high molecular weight enhances strength, hose collapse resistance, as well as compression set and stress relaxation properties. Its reputable commercial branching technology results in process improvements in mixing and excellent extrusion surface and collapse resistance.
