Based on ZEON Corporation’s recent announcement to discontinue their Nipol 1082 and 1082 V nitrile elastomers, we wanted share two potential NBR offsets from ARLANXEO: Krynac® 33110 F and Krynac® M 3340 F.
Krynac® 33110 F is a butadiene-acrylonitrile copolymer that’s cold polymerized and stocked in non-staining stabilized bales.
Krynac® M 3340 F is a plasticizer-extended butadiene acrylonitrile copolymer. The base polymer contains 34 weight % of acrylonitrile. It is extended with 52 phr of Mesamoll® (ASE, alkyl-sulfonicacidester of phenol).
These nitrile elastomers are recommended when oil or solvent resistance is needed for proper functioning of rubber parts, such as soft rolls and other low durometer goods.
The Krynac® brand is a multi-purpose polymer that provides:
- Exceptional resistance to swelling in oils, fuels and greases
- Excellent low temperature flexibility and heat resistance
- Good processing safety
- Very good extrusion performance and extreme resistance to abrasion and wear
Krynac® is used in various applications for the automotive, industrial equipment, machinery, shoe soles, flooring, and oil & gas industries. Moreover, specially produced Krynac® grades feature slow-curing, pre-crosslinked, plasticizer extended and carboxylated types leading respectively to good processing safety, very good extrusion performance and excellent resistance to abrasion and wear. It is preferably used for hoses, seals and membranes as well as for roll covers, coated fabrics, sheets, thermal insulation tubes and footwear.
