Four New Grades of 3M™ Dyneon™ Peroxide Cure Fluoroelastomers
December 10, 2019
Four new grades of 3M™ Dyneon™ Peroxide (PO) Cure Fluoroelastomers were launched in 2019. These improved PO cure grades include the highest fluorine content of any 3M PO cure at 70.1%, require no metal oxides for curing, and have expanded mooney viscosities. These properties allow for better chemical resistance and improved processing.
3M presented these materials at the Rubber Division, ACS Technical Meeting and the fall technical meeting of the Energy Polymer Group (EPG) in 2019.
The ACS Technical Meeting highlighted the differences in 3M™ Dyneon™ PO cure fluoroelastomers formulated with and without Zinc Oxide. The EPG technical presentation showcased how all four grades can be compounded to pass Rapid Gas Decompression.
