PERGAN

Since its foundation in 1981, PERGAN has established itself as a leading producer of organic peroxides for crosslinking and modifying elastomer polymers. With more than 250 employees at the locations in Germany, the United States and China, the PERGAN group produces 50 different peroxide types and over 300 custom peroxide formulations which are exported to more than 50 countries.

In addition to crosslinking and modifying rubber polymers, organic peroxides can also be used for polymerizing plastics monomers and curing unsaturated polyesters, vinyl-esters, and acrylic resins.

These materials are used in a very broad spectrum of industrial and consumer markets. Some key end-use applications include gaskets, hoses, seals, O-rings, cables, insulation, liners, rollers, conveyor belts, films, adhesives, and more.

PERGAN also holds ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications.

Here are some advantages of peroxide crosslinking elastomers:

  • simple formulation
  • long storage times of the peroxide-containing compounds without scorching
  • high processing temperatures
  • rapid vulcanization without reversion
  • high temperature resistance of final product
  • crosslinked products do not change color through contacts with metals and polyvinyl chloride (PVC)
  • most peroxides do not cause blooming
  • co-vulcanization of saturated and unsaturated rubbers, polyethylene, and other polyolefins
  • co-polymerization with polymerizable plasticizers or other co-agents to achieve a controlled hardness and stiffness, coupled with easy processing

Important safety note: Crosslinking peroxides can be stored and handled without risk, provided certain precautions are taken. Please refer to each PERGAN MSDS and product label for precise instructions and keep products at recommended storage temperature.
