Thermax® N990CG medium thermal carbon black meets the requirements for carbon black specified in EU 10/2011, enabling its use in water gaskets. It also carries an effective Food Contact Notification (FCN No. 2420), allowing it to be used in applications covered under CFR 177.2600 rubber articles intended for repeated use. The Detroit Rubber Group will host its Fall Technical Meeting on Thursday, October 23, at Airboss of America Corporation’s Auburn Hills facility, The event runs from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM (ET) and includes technical presentations and a tour of Airboss’ manufacturing facility. Steve Griffin, RDAbbott’s Director of Business Development, will be one of the featured presenters and will share insights on Conductive Silicone Technology.

For decades, customizing small-volume LSR was limited to off-the-shelf durometers and third streaming during injection molding. Today, it’s possible to tailor custom LSRs at the formulation level. This unlocks possibilities for enhanced physical properties, improved processability, and performance-specific tuning. During this free webinar, you’ll learn about the benefits and trade-offs of third streaming vs. pre-compounded solutions. You’ll also learn about designing custom LSR formulations to meet unique application demands and navigating the customization process, such as when to modify one vs. both components of a two-part system.

The Los Angeles Rubber Group (TLARGI) will host its annual Technical Conference, Oktoberfest, and Mini Expo on Tuesday, October 7, at the Brea Community Center in Brea, California. The Technical Conference kicks off at 1:00 PM and includes a presentation by RDAbbott’s Rick Ziebell on Conductive Silicone Technology. Then, starting at 5:00 PM, the Oktoberfest and Mini Expo will begin— marking the first time RDAbbott and its manufacturing subsidiary, NovationSi, will be exhibiting side by side at this event.

RDAbbott has hired Dr. Ragin Amrutiya as its first Innovation Business Development Manager. In this newly created role, Ragin will drive business growth by identifying and developing new opportunities through innovative approaches, strategic partnerships, and market expansion. His work will blend strategic foresight with hands-on execution, guided by a passion for emerging technologies and entrepreneurial thinking.

RDAbbott now distributes select products from DENKA, one of the world’s largest producers of acetylene black, throughout North America. The distribution agreement includes the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
