Cancarb Limited celebrated its 50th anniversary this year with a $50,000 donation to the Cancarb Employee and Alumni Endowment Fund at the Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta (CFSA).
Employees of Cancarb Limited in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, have donated 18 new and gently used adult and children’s bicycle helmets to a local non-profit organization. The cyclists among Cancarb identified a community need for greater bicycle safety and presented the donation to the Saamis Immigration Services Association.

This strategic agreement, effective June 25, 2023, aims to expand market presence and deliver exceptional technical support to customers. RDAbbott’s Mexico subsidiary, RDAbbott de México S. de R.L. de C.V., will facilitate and manage the distribution operations locally. RDAbbott has represented Cancarb products in the United States and Canada since 2017.
Electrical resistivity is an important property for various EPDM applications, such as wire and cable, battery and fuel cell gaskets, and automotive profiles. To achieve the specified electrical resistivity values in these applications, it is necessary to replace smaller particle size furnace blacks with mineral fillers and/or larger particle size carbon blacks. This 47-minute presentation highlights the results of Cancarb’s technical study that compared blends of hard clay, Thermax® N990, and N550, and evaluated how the size, structure, and surface chemistry of these filler systems impact the insulative and conductive behaviors of the EPDM compounds.

Ibáñez joined RDAbbott’s México subsidiary on June 6, 2023, and is responsible for developing business relationships, fostering sales growth, and providing technical support to customers in México. Ibáñez brings strong technical sales skills to his new role and has many years of experience selling Cancarb Limited’s Thermax® brand medium thermal carbon blacks.

Thanks to a monetary contribution by Cancarb Limited, 16 trees were added to Lions Park in Redcliff, Alberta, Canada. Cancarb also volunteered its employees to assist with planting the trees alongside fellow townsmen.
