Cancarb Earns Third Platinum Sustainability Rating from EcoVadis

Cancarb Limited has earned its third Platinum Sustainability Rating from EcoVadis, a global provider of corporate and environmental scorecards. Cancarb, maker of Thermax^® medium thermal carbon black, one of the purest forms of carbon derived from the thermal decomposition of natural gas, also received a Platinum Sustainability Rating from EcoVadis in 2021 and 2023.

Cancarb’s platinum rating is the highest possible sustainability rating from EcoVadis, an organization that rates over 100,000 suppliers worldwide. Companies who receive this distinction are in the top 1% of business that are assessed.

Earlier this year, Cancarb earned EcoVadis’ 2024 Sustainability Leadership Award for the Americas. Cancarb is based in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, where waste heat from its production facility generates electricity for approximately 20% of the city.

Cancarb is also continuing to invest and innovate in their product offerings. Through customer-driven feedback, Cancarb developed Thermax N990CG. This rubber additive has low levels of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), substances that are known carcinogens.

RDAbbott supplies Thermax N990CG and has represented Cancarb products in the United States and Canada since 2017. In 2023, RDAbbott became the exclusive distributor for Thermax^® brand medium thermal carbon black in Mexico.
