Students from various Summit County high schools in Ohio recently visited RDAbbott and NovationSi for a facilities tour and overview of careers in the rubber industry. On March 21st, RDAbbott’s Service Center in Barberton, Ohio, hosted 21 students from the Industrial Maintenance and Production for Employment program at Stow-Munroe Falls High School. David Helmick, IMPE technology instructor and transitional work experience coordinator, also participated in the field trip.

Parker Lord is hosting a free virtual training event featuring its Chemlok® rubber-to-substrate adhesives on December 6 at 11 AM (EST). Parker Lord Senior Scientist Jeff Means and Application Engineer Cristina DiFranco will provide the technical training. This virtual training will consist of two, one-hour pre-recorded training sessions followed by a live question-and-answer session with each presenter. The first training session will focus on proper substrate preparation, adhesive preparation and application techniques, coated part handling, and molding best practices. The second training session will focus on troubleshooting bond failures and preventative actions.
Hallstar has finalized its purchase of LANXESS’ ester manufacturing facility in Greensboro, North Carolina. The acquisition expands the Chicago-based company’s manufacturing capacity, product portfolio, and employee roster. As part of the acquisition, Hallstar is gaining new product lines of brominated flame retardants and phthalate-free plasticizers, including benzoate and citrate esters.
