RDAbbott and NovationSi recently gave a group of Ohio middle schoolers a firsthand look at American manufacturing in action. On July 12th, approximately fifteen students from Barberton Middle School toured the 127,000+ sq. ft. facility in Barberton, Ohio, which is NovationSi’s headquarters and RDAbbott’s Northeast hub. The students learned how LSR and HCR differ, as well as how they’re made, tested, colored, and cured.
In this webinar recording, Dr. Noel Chang, Technical Service and Development Leader for Dow Consumer Solutions, and Dr. Jessica Ding, the Marketing Manager for Dow, introduce SILASTIC™ 9212-50 LSR for sealing that’s compatible with connector housings made of flame-retardant plastics.
Join us in Charlotte, North Carolina, for LSR 2023 from September 11 – 14 to discuss technological and scientific developments in LSR and explore its countless industry applications. RDAbbott is an organizer, co-sponsor, and co-exhibitor for this event, which will include technical presentations by two of our supplier partners: Dow and DuPont. RDAbbott will also moderate a panel discussion about dosing systems and interact with attendees in its shared exhibit space with Dow.
Join us August 15 – 18 in Barberton, Ohio, for “Manufacturing with Silicone Rubber,” a comprehensive workshop hosted by RDAbbott from a fabricator’s point-of-view. Attendees of this four-day workshop will learn practical techniques, testing methods, and insights, plus equipment troubleshooting tips for processing silicone rubber, from industry professionals through a combination of classroom instruction and interactive workshops.
In this upcoming webinar, Dr. Noel Chang, Technical Service and Development Leader for Dow Consumer Solutions, and Dr. Jessica Ding, the Marketing Manager for Dow, will describe SILASTIC™ 921X LSR Series for sealing that’s compatible with connector housings made of flame-retardant plastics.
Dow has shared a technical presentation about how its optical silicones are advancing new LED applications in automotive lighting, sports stadium lighting, and UV drinking water purification systems. This information-rich resource examines the benefits of using SILASTIC™ Moldable Optical Silicones.
Dow is sharing a technical presentation about how its SILASTIC™ Moldable Optical Silicones are enabling advanced automotive lighting. For example, adaptive driving beam (ADB) technologies use a high-power LED matrix with a silicone primary lens. Rear lamps and indicators use linear LEDs with a silicone coupler and light guide. Dow’s technical presentation also covers material, mechanical, and optical properties.
RDAbbott will share its rubber industry knowledge at Silicone Elastomers Technology and Fabrication, an in-person course from M.R. Toub Training from January 31 to February 3, 2023. Rick Ziebell will be an instructor for this university-accredited course, which will provide participants with 3.2 continuing education credits from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
Dow has launched a new series of selective adhesion LSR products for the mobility and transportation industry. SILASTIC™ SA 994X LSRs are primer-less, self-adhesive, and available in standard and self-lubricating versions with a one-to-one mix ratio for two-component injection molding with thermoplastic substrates. These new LSR materials were specifically developed to target adhesion to polybutylene terephthalates (PBT) and polyamides (PA).
Rick Ziebell, RDAbbott’s Vice President of Technology and Technical Fellow, will be an instructor for Silicone Elastomers Technology and Fabrication, an in-person course from M.R. Toub Training, scheduled for January 31 to February 3, 2022. This university-accredited course will provide participants with 3.2 continuing education credits from California Polytechnic State University.
