TLARGI’s 2021/2022 Basic Rubber Technology Online Course (October 14 – January 27)

Whether your background is operations, sales, technical, finance or management, the “Basic Rubber Technology Course,” provided by The Los Angeles Rubber Group, Inc. (TLARGI) is invaluable to furthering your success in the rubber industry.
In fact, the course’s framework started in 1934 when Ray Stringfield taught a “Rubber Technology” course at the University of Southern California (USC).
For the past 70 years, this elastomer training has been a part of TLARGI’s technical education program. RDAbbott’s Technology Fellow Rick Ziebell and AETS Rubber Technologist Matt Rogers will be leading the course instruction. Rick has been teaching the course for 11 years. This is Matt’s third year co-teaching the course.
COURSE OVERVIEW
The course will be held online Thursdays from 4 – 6 PM (PT) starting October 14, 2021, and ending on January 27, 2022.
The course will provide a comprehensive introduction to the following topics:
- Designing with rubber
- Formulating with rubber
- Compounding with rubber
- Fabricating with rubber
- Mold design and manufacturing with rubber*
- Testing with rubber
Other highlighted topics include: rubber industry overview and history, silicone rubber, rubber-to-substrate bonding, recycling, latex, foam/sponge, mold building, rubber test methods, and more.

TLARGI is offering this 14-week course for $380 per student, whether or not you’re a TLARGI member.
