Cancarb Celebrates 50th Anniversary with $50K Donation

Cancarb Limited, a leading manufacturer of medium thermal carbon black, celebrated its 50th anniversary this year. The company is based in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, and is part of the Tokai Carbon Co. Ltd., which celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2018. The rubber industry uses thermal carbon black to improve dispersion, add electrical resistivity, and contribute to the physical and dynamic properties of rubber compounds.
As part of its 50th-anniversary celebration, Cancarb donated $50,000 to the Cancarb Employee and Alumni Endowment Fund at the Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta (CFSA). “This donation,” said Peter Donnelly, Cancarb’s President, in a news release, “will ensure organizations that support the most at-risk in our community have the support they need, now and well into the future.”
Cancarb is committed to its local community and shares news of its charitable activities via the #CancarbCares hashtag on social media. The company also holds a platinum sustainability rating from EcoVadis. In June 2023, RDAbbott became the exclusive and authorized full-service distributor for Cancarb’s Thermax® brand medium thermal carbon black in Mexico.
