“Chemlok® Overview, Best Practices, and Troubleshooting” Seminar Hosted by RDAbbott (October 23)

On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM, RDAbbott is hosting a free technical seminar featuring Chemlok® rubber-to-substrate adhesives from Parker Lord at the Wyndham Garden Edmonton Airport Hotel, located at 8016 Sparrow Drive, Leduc, Alberta, T9E 7G3.

During this in-person event, Parker Lord Technical Field Service Engineer Joseph (JR) Nordstrom will review the rubber-to-substrate bonding process from start to finish. This review will include:

  • Proper substrate preparation
  • Adhesive preparation and application techniques
  • Coated part handling
  • Molding best practices

The training will then transition into a troubleshooting workshop where failed parts are studied for bond failures and preventative actions.

RDAbbott’s Canada Business and Sales Manager Lincoln Gilmour will also be moderating the training.

Lunch, beverages, and snacks will be provided.

About Our Presenter

Joseph (JR) Nordstrom is a Technical Support Engineer at Parker Lord, where he has worked for 24 years, with the last 6 years in his current role. His extensive experience with the company includes significant time in the Chemical division, where he held various roles in Product Quality and Facility EHS. In his current role, JR supports customers through training, production process efficiency evaluations, failure mode analysis, and assists with product selection to ensure end products meet performance specifications and enhance process efficiencies.

About Our Moderator

Lincoln Gilmour has more than 25 years of sales leadership, business development and product management experience in both the adhesives and coatings markets. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, he started his career as a technical service representative for Henkel Adhesives Canada. He subsequently moved into their OEM Sales Group where his focus was supporting the challenging requirements within the industrial, electronics, and automotive industries. After Henkel, Lincoln held various positions with highlights including: managing Parker Lord’s Chemlok®, Automotive, and Structural portfolios from 2010 – 2015 as both a product manager and an account manager; developing a new Chemical Coatings Division for a global provider of rubber linings; and managing the OEM/Direct Sales channels for Helmitin Adhesives. He is also an active member of the Ontario Society of Professional Engineers and Ontario Rubber Group and is proud board member of the Lightworks Foundation.
