On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM, RDAbbott is hosting a free technical seminar at the Wyndham Garden Edmonton Airport Hotel in Edmonton, Alberta, featuring Chemlok® rubber-to-substrate adhesives from Parker Lord. During this in-person event, Parker Lord Technical Field Service Engineer JR Nordstrom will review the rubber-to-substrate bonding process from start to finish. This review will include proper substrate preparation, adhesive preparation and application techniques, coated part handling, and molding best practices. The training will then transition into a troubleshooting workshop where failed parts are studied for bond failures and preventative actions.

During this in-person event, Parker Lord Application Engineer Brady Hultman will review the rubber-to-substrate bonding process from start to finish. This review will include proper substrate preparation, adhesive preparation and application techniques, coated part handling, and molding best practices. The training will then transition into a troubleshooting workshop where failed parts are studied for bond failures and preventative actions. In addition, RDAbbott’s East Coast Sales Manager Jason Huff will provide a brief overview of the latest product developments from Parker Lord.

RDAbbott will supply Dow LSR to four liquid injection molding cells at NPE 2024, the plastics industry’s largest event. Two of these cells will also use pigments from NovationSi. This effort demonstrates our commitment to working with industry-leading supplier partners and providing top-notch technical support. RDAbbott also collaborates with manufacturers of injection molding machines, molds, and dosing systems.

Dow has launched a new series of selective adhesion LSR products for the mobility and transportation industry. SILASTIC™ SA 994X LSRs are primer-less, self-adhesive, and available in standard and self-lubricating versions with a one-to-one mix ratio for two-component injection molding with thermoplastic substrates. These new LSR materials were specifically developed to target adhesion to polybutylene terephthalates (PBT) and polyamides (PA).
