Silicone Elastomers Technology and Fabrication Course (January 28 – 31)

Rick Ziebell, RDAbbott’s Vice President of Technology and Technical Fellow, will be an instructor for Silicone Elastomers Technology and Fabrication, an expert-led course from M.R. Toub Training, scheduled for January 28 – 31, 2025, from 8 AM to 5 PM (PT) each day. This university-accredited course will provide participants with continuing education credits from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.

Cancarb Technical Bulletin Examines Thermax® in Polystyrene Foam

Cancarb Limited has published a Technical Bulletin that describes the advantages of incorporating Thermax® Thermal Carbon Black in various formulations of polystyrene (PS) foam. The study documents the dispersion and processing benefits of Thermax® and uses similar expansion, density, open-cell content, and compression properties as the control. Adding 4 wt.% thermal black resulted in a ~ 3% reduction in thermal conductivity and a ~ 14% reduction in thermal effusivity.
