Thermax® N990CG medium thermal carbon black meets the requirements for carbon black specified in EU 10/2011, enabling its use in water gaskets. It also carries an effective Food Contact Notification (FCN No. 2420), allowing it to be used in applications covered under CFR 177.2600 rubber articles intended for repeated use. Cancarb Limited has published a Tensile Strength Distribution Technical Bulletin that shows how formulating nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) with Thermax® N990 improves dispersion quality and supports potential cost reductions. The study compared nine materials, including two Thermax® medium thermal carbon black materials, and used tensile strength distribution instead of optical instruments to evaluate dispersion quality.
