We are looking forward to presenting at the Smithers Rapra Silicone Elastomers World Summit November 27-28 in Milan, Italy. Rick Ziebell, our Technology Fellow, will be presenting on “Practical Three-Dimensional (3D) Printing of LSR.”

In case you weren’t able to attend LSR2018 in Anaheim, California, and hear Rick Ziebell’s presentation on “Innovations in Additive 3D Printing of Silicone Rubber Components,” you’re in luck. This video provides an overview of his presentation, highlighting the revolutionary liquid additive manufacturing (LAM) 3D printing technology collaboratively developed by Dow Silicones and German RepRap.

LORD Corporation has announced the creation of Chemlok^® CB, a one-component rubber-to-metal and rubber-to-rubber adhesive for bonding vulcanized substrates at room temperature. This REACH compliant adhesive has shown rubber tearing bonds to most formulations of chloroprene, neoprene, and chlorobutyl rubber. Applied like a contact adhesive but forming crosslinks between the rubber and substrate allows for ease of use while providing the bond strength needed for most applications.
