RDAbbott to Exhibit and Present at 2022 International Silicone Conference
April 20, 2022
RDAbbott will exhibit and present at the 2022 International Silicone Conference, a biennial event for the silicone industry that is organized by Rubber News. The conference is scheduled for May 10 and 11 at the Sheraton Suites Akron in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and will feature a strong technical program with presentations that cover key global trends and issues in the silicone market, material and process solutions, emerging products, and more.
RDAbbott will exhibit in tabletop booth #10, deliver a technical presentation, and provide the closing address. RDAbbott industry veterans Rick Ziebell and John Carroll will share valuable information and insights at an event where the elite in the silicone industry meet.
“RDAbbott looks forward to sharing with and learning from other silicone industry leaders,” said Tom Jenkins, Vice President of Business Development with RDAbbott.
Rick Ziebell, Vice President of Technology and Technical Fellow at RDAbbott, will present “Modifying the Properties of Silicones with Additives” on Tuesday, May 10, from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM (ET). His technical presentation will examine a customized approach to additive technologies from NovationSi, RDAbbott’s manufacturing subsidiary. Topics include NovaSperse® antiflame modifiers that impart UL-94 V0 and low-smoke toxicity to liquid silicone rubber (LSR), antistatic modifiers that make silicone hydrophilic and reduce static-cling between cured parts, and antimicrobial modifiers that can prevent surface biofilm formation. Ziebell will also discuss a groundbreaking, patent-pending nanotechnology in silicones that is advancing non-invasive, neuromodulation therapies for FDA-cleared medical uses.
John Carroll, Senior Account Manager at RDAbbott, will provide the event’s closing address on Wednesday, May 11, from 11:40 AM to 12:25 PM (ET). The topic of Carroll’s talk, “Learning from the Past to Forge the Future,” will include lessons learned over his 50-plus year career with silicones. Nicknamed the “Godfather of Silicones,” Carroll will also share predictions about the industry’s future.
