Live at MD&M West 2020 in Anaheim, California. We’re featuring a custom-designed flying disc over-molded with 50-durometer Dow SILASTIC™ Low Temperature Cure (LTC) 9400 Series Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR).
Dow SILASTIC™ LTC 9400 Series are low-temperature-curing elastomers that enable increased design freedom and process efficiency for automotive components and consumer goods.
RDAbbott will demonstrate a revolutionary application for overmolding liquid silicone rubber (LSR) at MD&M West this year. RDAbbott, in partnership with M.R. Mold & Engineering Corp., will showcase a production cell where 50-durometer Dow SILASTIC™ LTC 9400 LSR, a low-temperature curing (LTC) elastomer for high-volume injection molding, is overmolded onto a custom-designed flying disc. Historically, LSR overmolding onto low-melting-point plastics and other thermally-sensitive components, such as electronics, has not been possible because of the high curing temperatures required.
We invite you to join us at Molding 2020 from March 17 – 19 at The Westin Chicago Lombard in Chicago, IL. Rick Ziebell, our Technology Fellow, will be presenting on “Essentials of LSR Materials & Processing.”
We invite you to join us at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee (UWM) School of Continuing Education’s 2020 Silicone Elastomers Technology and Fabrication Course from February 17-20 at the Embassy Suites in Anaheim, CA.
RDAbbott is proud to announce its partnership with M.R. Mold & Engineering in Booth 1346 at MD&M West in Anaheim, California, February 11 – 13, 2020, featuring a custom-designed plastic flying disc over-molded with 50-durometer Dow SILASTIC™ Low Temperature Cure (LTC) 9400 Series Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR).
Live at the 2019 International Elastomer Conference in Cleveland, Ohio, RDAbbott Product Manager Tim Royer, and German RepRap Sales Manager, highlight innovations in 3D printing from German RepRap using Dow SILASTIC™ 3D 3335 Liquid Silicone Rubber.
LORD® In-Mold Bonding (IMB™) liquid silicone rubber (LSR) adhesives are non-tacky polymer-based coatings that when applied to a substrate provide a structural bond to a rigid or elastomeric polymer, which is formed under heat and pressure. LORD IMB 3000 series adhesives are designed for bonding platinum-cured silicone rubber to a variety of thermoplastic and metal substrates during the injection molding process.
RDAbbott has hired Craig Lustek as their next application engineer. Craig has more than 20 years of experience in process engineering, research and development, product management and manufacturing with suppliers of elastomers and processing equipment.
RDAbbott is an organizer, sponsor and exhibitor for LSR 2019, the premiere event for liquid silicone rubber professionals. This year’s conference is scheduled for September 9-12, 2019, in Schaumburg, Illinois, and will include technical presentations, a new half-day workshop about LSR simulation at SIGMASOFT®, and a visit to equipment maker ARBURG to see silicone processing technologies. The keynote lecture is about design issues and will be followed by a panel discussion with silicone experts.
