Parker has launched CHEMLOK® NX-100, a next-generation covercoat adhesive that bonds elastomers to substrates during vulcanization while supporting greater environmental sustainability and improved regulatory compliance. This new topcoat adhesive bonds NR, SBR, CR, and EPDM polymers to metals and other rigid substrates without the use of chlorinated solvents that raise EHS concerns.

RDAbbott’s Cristina DiFranco will present “Elastomer-to-Metal Adhesion: Best Practices for Adhesive Mixing and Application” at the Quebec Rubber Group’s Technical-Commercial Dinner on October 24, 2024. The focus is Chemlok® rubber-to-substrate vulcanizing adhesives, and the content will be similar to previous events that RDAbbott has hosted in collaboration with Parker Lord.

On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM, RDAbbott is hosting a free technical seminar at the Wyndham Garden Edmonton Airport Hotel in Edmonton, Alberta, featuring Chemlok® rubber-to-substrate adhesives from Parker Lord. During this in-person event, Parker Lord Technical Field Service Engineer JR Nordstrom will review the rubber-to-substrate bonding process from start to finish. This review will include proper substrate preparation, adhesive preparation and application techniques, coated part handling, and molding best practices. The training will then transition into a troubleshooting workshop where failed parts are studied for bond failures and preventative actions.

Parker Lord has released a new video that describes everyday applications for its popular Chemlok® adhesives. The video, “Chemlok Adhesives: The Invisible Bond of Your Everyday Life,” highlights Chemlok technology for rubber-to-substrate bonding at home, in the car, and at the office. The video also shows how Sipiol® coatings and Flocklok® adhesives help improve daily life through improved sealing and noise reduction.

Parker Lord is sharing an on-demand webinar recording about Chemlok® 701 Adhesive, a one-coat product for bonding castable urethanes and thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs) to metals. This new adhesive overcomes traditional limitations and provides increased resistance to water and high temperatures. Parker Lord’s JR Nordstrom, Senior Field Technical Representative, and Brian Carney, Senior Principal Scientist, presented the 26-minute webinar.

RDAbbott recently hired Cristina DiFranco and Brittany Ploep as Account Managers. Cristina is based in Cleveland, Ohio, and serves the Northeastern United States. Brittany will be based in and serve the Southeastern United States.
