Silicone Elastomers Technology and Fabrication Course (February 2 – 5)
October 14, 2026

Rick Ziebell, RDAbbott’s Technical Fellow, will be an instructor for Silicone Elastomers Technology and Fabrication, an expert-led course from M.R. Toub Training, scheduled for February 2 – 5, 2027, from 8 AM to 5 PM (PT) each day.
What You Will Learn
The Silicone Elastomers Technology and Fabrication course will emphasize liquid injection molding (LIM) of liquid silicone rubber (LSR) and explore extrusion and calendering of high consistency rubber (HCR). Areas of instruction will include:
- Material selection
- Tool design considerations, including virtual simulation techniques in LSR design.
- Pump, press, calender, and extruder designs
- The injection molding process, including machine setups, pump operation, and automation
- Secondary processes, such as post-cure and deflashing
- Special subjects, like optical silicone molding, overmolding, and bonding to plastics and metal
Who Should Attend?
This four-day training event is recommended for both entry-level and experienced personnel, such as: rubber technologists, rubber chemists, process engineers, laboratory managers, supervisors, and quality assurance managers.
Expert-Led Instruction
Along with RDAbbott’s Rick Ziebell, the course instructors are Bob Pelletier, industry veteran in dosing and metering technologies; John Timmerman, CEO for Poly-Nova Technologies; Rick Finnie, President of M.R. Mold & Engineering; Robert Jovingo, LIMS Process Engineer for Shin-Etsu Silicones; and Stefan Scheibner, Application Technician for ARBURG, Inc.
Costs, Locations, and Accommodations
Course locations are at the Brea Civic & Cultural Center and M.R. Mold & Engineering, the site of a one-day field trip, in Brea, California.
The cost is $2,000 per person.
