Silicone High Consistency Rubber (HCR) plays a vital role in demanding applications such as high-voltage insulation, mobility, wire and cable, aerospace, and industrial sealing. About the Presenters
Jake Steinbrecher is a Senior Technical Service & Development Scientist with Dow Performance Silicones. He is a globally recognized technical leader in the fields of silicone elastomers and silicone part fabrication, and his current focus is on developing applications for a variety of silicone elastomers in the mobility and LED lighting markets and providing direct support to silicone fabricators.
Jake has been a Technical Service & Development engineer at Dow since 2010. In that time, he has been focused on the development of silicone elastomers for lighting, molding and EV applications. In addition to an emphasis on application development of silicone materials for EV powertrain, Jake provides engineering and technical sales support for silicone materials used in LED lighting technologies. His expertise includes advanced optical silicone materials as well as related silicone rubber technologies for meeting specialized design requirements in automotive, LED lighting and other mobility applications.

Dave Armstrong is a Research & Development Technologist at Dow Consumer Solutions, Mobility & Transportation at Dow Performance Silicones. He has specialized in the development of silicone elastomers for automotive and aerospace applications since 2010. His recent work focuses on thermally conductive elastomers for electric vehicle mobility, with expertise in product formulation, development, and testing across various elastomer families. Prior to this, he worked on quality, testing, and development of silicone solar solutions. Dave holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Saginaw Valley State University.
