RDAbbott Joins RPN’s Silicone 2021 Livestream on May 20

RDAbbott will help power a Rubber & Plastics News (RPN) livestream called “Silicone 2021: An Unsettled Market with Unlimited Applications” on May 20 at 2:00 PM (ET). RDAbbott’s John Carroll, a 50-year industry veteran known as the “Godfather of Silicone,” will participate in the one-hour panel discussion and question-and-answer session. At a time when silicone prices are rising and silicone applications keep increasing, Carroll and other members of the expert panel will offer valuable insights about market trends, the virtues of silicones, as well as future business opportunities.

Hosted by RPN Editor Bruce Meyer and Reporter Andrew Schunk, “Silicone 2021 Livestream” will ask the experts what’s driving today’s marketplace challenges and what to expect in terms of supply and demand across different geographic markets. The panelists will also discuss the chemical and practical advantages of silicone, innovative applications in fields such as aerospace and healthcare, and breakthrough developments with organo-silicon compounds and low-gassing elastomers. Additional topics for this “all things silicone” discussion will include sustainability, end-of-life issues, and markets to watch over the next decade.

John Carroll, Senior Account Manager at RDAbbott, will apply lessons learned over his half-century of service with GE Silicones, J-Sil, Dow Corning Corporation, Dow Corning STI, and now RDAbbott. During his 22 years with Dow in the U.S. Midwest, Carroll is credited with helping to introduce silicone rubber to automotive connector manufacturing. In roles ranging from Lab and Quality Technician to Executive Manager, Sales Representative, and Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Carroll continues to be a driving force and technical resource in the silicone industry.

“This is an event that can help the industry make sense of today’s silicone market and where things are headed,” says Keith Thomas, President of RDAbbott. “We look forward to John Carroll’s participation.”
