RDAbbott to Champion Elastomers for High-Performance Designs at RPN’s Rubber in Automotive Conference

RDAbbott will advance elastomers that are revolutionizing automotive lighting and hydrogen fuel system technologies at the 2021 virtual Rubber in Automotive Conference. In this technical presentation scheduled for June 2 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. (ET), Kevin Kulbaba, Technical Service and Application Development Manager for ARLANXEO, will highlight elastomer sealing performance advancements using Thermax^® N990 Carbon Black and X_Butyl^® Bromobutyl designed for hydrogen fuel system technologies.

High pressure hydrogen permeation testing was employed in this study at 90°C to mimic the current operating conditions for onboard hydrogen storage and Polymer Electrolyte Membrane (PEM) fuel cells. These permeation-resistant polymer systems were evaluated with synergistic tortured path mechanisms in a fuel cell operational environment.
