RDAbbott has hired Sean Djuricic as Account Manager for outside sales starting with the U.S. West Coast. Sean is a rubber industry professional with 20+ years of sales and marketing experience. Previously, Sean was the sales and marketing manager for Akron Rubber Development Laboratory, Inc. (ARDL), which provides testing and development services to the rubber and plastic industries.

Parker LORD has launched a web page that explains how its Chemlok® rubber-to-substrate bonding products are used in electric vehicles. This new resource includes an overview video, information about adhesives and coatings for weatherstripping and glass, information about dielectric coatings for battery packs, and explanations of how Chemlok® products are used in motor mounts and suspension parts.

RDAbbott will educate TV audiences about the past, present, and future of the rubber industry in a five-minute documentary filmed by the Viewpoint Project and hosted by actor Dennis Quaid.

RDAbbott recently hosted a webinar titled “Benefits of Thermax® N990 to Rubber Compounding.” This 53-minute presentation about Cancarb Thermax® N990 thermal carbon black was livestreamed on April 28, 2022. It is part of RDAbbott’s 2022 Webinar Series, which provided technical insights and processing recommendations from its supplier partners.

In this five-minute video documentary filmed by the Viewpoint Project, RDAbbott reviews the past, present, and future of the rubber industry. Starting May 2022, this documentary will start airing between longer-form programming on Public Television stations across the United States.

RDAbbott will exhibit and present at the 2022 International Silicone Conference, a biennial event for the silicone industry that is organized by Rubber News. The conference is scheduled for May 10 and 11 at the Sheraton Suites Akron in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. RDAbbott will exhibit in tabletop booth #10, deliver a technical presentation, and provide the closing address. RDAbbott industry veterans Rick Ziebell and John Carroll will share valuable information and insights at an event where the elite in the silicone industry meet.

RDAbbott will exhibit at Rubber Division, ACS’ 2022 Spring Technical Meeting. This year’s event is scheduled for April 26 through April 28 at the Marriott Cleveland East in Warrensville Heights, Ohio.

Cancarb makes a thermal carbon black, Thermax® N990CG, with low levels of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), substances that are listed as carcinogens. Production of this rubber additive also helps Cancarb’s local community to reduce its fossil fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
