Silicone Elastomers Technology and Fabrication Course (January 31 – February 3)

Rick Ziebell, RDAbbott’s Vice President of Technology and Technical Fellow, will be an instructor for Silicone Elastomers Technology and Fabrication, an in-person course from M.R. Toub Training, scheduled for January 31 to February 3, 2022, from 8 AM to 5 PM each day. This university-accredited course will provide participants with 3.2 continuing education credits from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
What You Will Learn
The Silicone Elastomers Technology and Fabrication Course will emphasize liquid injection molding (LIM) for liquid silicone rubber (LSR), and explore extrusion and calendering for high consistency rubber (HCR). From start to finish, this unique training event will show participants the sequence of designing and fabricating with silicone elastomers. Areas of instruction will include:
- LSR and HCR material selection
- Design for manufacturing (DfM) with silicone
- Tooling and virtual simulation techniques
- Pump, press, calender, and extruder designs for peak performance
- Secondary processes, like post-curing, de-flashing, and overmolding
Who Should Attend?
This in-depth training event is recommended for both entry-level and experienced personnel, such as: rubber technologists, rubber chemists, process engineers, laboratory managers, supervisors, shop foremen, quality assurance managers and engineers, technical sales personnel, molding technicians, and rubber producers and users.

Costs, Locations, and Accommodations
The course locations are at the Kellogg West Conference Center and Hotel in Pomona, California, and M.R. Mold & Engineering, site of a one-day field trip, in nearby Brea, California. Register before January 1, 2023, to receive the Early Bird rate of $2,020 per person. Starting January 2, the price is $2,220 per person.
