LORD Corporation has announced the creation of Chemlok® CB, a one-component rubber-to-metal and rubber-to-rubber adhesive for bonding vulcanized substrates at room temperature. This REACH compliant adhesive has shown rubber tearing bonds to most formulations of chloroprene, neoprene, and chlorobutyl rubber. Applied like a contact adhesive but forming crosslinks between the rubber and substrate allows for ease of use while providing the bond strength needed for most applications.

In booth W4143 at NPE2018, Zeiger Industries will be molding an automotive LED headlamp optic made from DOWSIL™ MS-4007 Moldable Silicone on a Milacron-Fanuc Roboshot a-S55iA with their new iHMI Controller that has a two cavity mold mounted to a M.R. Mold universal base with a single drop gated cold runner system. The production cell will utilize an ELMET TOP 5000P dosing system, a Thermal Care air cooled EQ3A01 portable chiller, and a Yushin YC-100S-11-8 robot with an E-Touch Compact controller, a custom engineered end-of-arm tool, and a Yushin indexing conveyor. A virtual molding simulation of the filling and curing process will be provided compliments of SIGMASOFT®. The Zeiger LSR Plug-n-Play Conversion Kit incorporates a Wexco777 water-cooled barrel, Zpringlok™ LSR pre-closed valve, ZSAR PM zero compression ratio screw and their proprietary barrel/screw sealing device.

RDAbbott featured the latest addition to its technical services portfolio, a Liquid Additive Manufacturing (LAM) 3D Printer, at the 2017 International Elastomer Conference in Cleveland, Ohio.
