RDAbbott and NovationSi recently gave a group of Ohio middle schoolers a firsthand look at American manufacturing in action. On July 12th, approximately fifteen students from Barberton Middle School toured the 127,000+ sq. ft. facility in Barberton, Ohio, which is NovationSi’s headquarters and RDAbbott’s Northeast hub. The students learned how LSR and HCR differ, as well as how they’re made, tested, colored, and cured.

Join us August 15 – 18 in Barberton, Ohio, for “Manufacturing with Silicone Rubber,” a comprehensive workshop hosted by RDAbbott from a fabricator’s point-of-view. Attendees of this four-day workshop will learn practical techniques, testing methods, and insights, plus equipment troubleshooting tips for processing silicone rubber, from industry professionals through a combination of classroom instruction and interactive workshops.

NovationSi, the manufacturing subsidiary for RDAbbott, has named Brian Swanton as Director of Process Engineering. Swanton holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Michigan Technology University and has over 28 years of silicone experience, including extensive service with Dow and Dupont. Swanton holds multiple patents and has developed or scaled up at least forty products, which now represent a minimum of $100M in annual sales.

Starting February 23, RDAbbott will launch its 2023 webinar series that will feature technical insights, material updates, and processing recommendations from our supplier partners throughout the year.

RDAbbott will share its rubber industry knowledge at Silicone Elastomers Technology and Fabrication, an in-person course from M.R. Toub Training from January 31 to February 3, 2023. Rick Ziebell will be an instructor for this university-accredited course, which will provide participants with 3.2 continuing education credits from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.

This university-accredited course will provide participants with 3.2 continuing education credits from California Polytechnic State University.

RDAbbott will exhibit and present at the 2022 International Silicone Conference, a biennial event for the silicone industry that is organized by Rubber News. The conference is scheduled for May 10 and 11 at the Sheraton Suites Akron in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. RDAbbott will exhibit in tabletop booth #10, deliver a technical presentation, and provide the closing address. RDAbbott industry veterans Rick Ziebell and John Carroll will share valuable information and insights at an event where the elite in the silicone industry meet.
